If your device doesn't have a built-in microphone, you'll need to buy a headset or external microphone. A headset will be helpful even if you have a built-in microphone, as it will minimize echoing (caused by sound coming out of your speakers and back into your mic) and allow you to videoconference even when there is noise in the background. An external microphone can be a way to achieve high-quality audio without the visual distraction of a headset. Here are some recommendations for both.

If you will be conducting videoconferencing sessions with multiple participants, we strongly recommend everyone use a headset if possible. (If not possible, to mute their own microphones when not speaking). This will reduce ambient noise and echoing.

Answer

Headset

Some low cost headsets:

1. Logitech USB H570e Corded Headset

2. Logitech Wireless Headset H800

3. Plantronics .Audio 655

4. Cyber Acoustics AC-840

Bluetooth Headset

Bluetooth headsets can be desireable if you would like to improve your audio quality with the minimal visual distraction of a headset. Plantronics has several Bluetooth models, such as the Marque 2 MI65

In the case of iPhones or iPads, Bluetooth may be the best means of connecting a headset to your device. The Apple store has several headphones and headsets for its iPhones (click here) and for its iPads (click here). Due to Apple's specifications, general Bluetooth equipment may not be compatible with your device.

*The VSee Android app is NOT compatible with Bluetooth speakers or microphones, but can access external speakers/microphones connected by AUX cable.

External Microphone and Speaker

The Phoenix Duet Speakerphone provides great sound quality and noise cancelation.

The JABRA Speak 510 also provides great sound quality, and bluetooth support for mobile devices.
